Another Arrow “Spin-Off” Could be in CW’s Future?

EW is reporting that CW president Mark Pedowitz has stated that he’s in “preliminary discussions” to expand the network’s DC universe, but he doesn’t name a show or character.

“You’d have to be judicious. Could there be another hour in that universe? Possibly. That’s why we’re in preliminary discussion. [The show] has to stand on its own legs.”

Quite a few other sites have speculated that Brandon Routh’s Atom would be the obvious choice, but I’m just not sold on the idea.

It was one thing to introduce The Flash, but that was a specific move with a well-known character. They said from the start that if the reaction to Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen was positive, they would green-light a pilot. It doesn’t feel the same way with The Atom.

Who would the obvious choice be then? Well, they are using the term spin-off, so it has to be a pre-exiting character in theory, though as I stated about they did introduce Barry Allen just to try and get The Flash (forgive me) up and running.

Could John Diggle, played by David Ramsey, have earned enough love from the fans and network executives to give him a chance at his own show? Could he be a Rick Flagg type leader of the Suicide Squad or maybe there is a superhero they could somehow turn John Diggle into?

What do you think?
